Your sofa should fit YOUR home. Handmade sofas at Bespoke Sofa Company are built in-house in our South Wales workshops. That means the size, the shape, the fabric and the colour are set for your room, not pulled from a container of identical frames. Prices start from £499.
We make the sofas here in South Wales. You can visit the workshop towns, sit on a piece, and talk to the people who will price yours.
Handmade is a process, not a badge. A frame is cut and built, then sprung, then covered in the cloth you chose. If the wall is 236 cm, the frame is 236 cm. If you want a corner instead of a straight, the frame is a corner. That is the whole offer, written plainly.
What to check in a handmade sofa
Ask who builds it, and where. We build in-house in South Wales. Ask whether the size is truly yours, or a nearest match. Ours is yours — see made to measure sofas and custom size sofas.
Ask to see the cloth. Our ranges are on fabrics: Plush Velvet, Chenille, Linen Weave, Distressed Nubuck, Faux Buckskin, Bouclé I, Bouclé II, Plush Chenille, Plush Cord, Textured Weave, and Clarke & Clarke. We post samples. Designer fabrics cost more per square metre.
Sit on a sofa in the showroom. Feel the seat. Feather, fibre and foam feel different; we will explain those on the quote rather than hide them in adjectives. Do not buy from a photograph of a “handmade” sofa if nobody will tell you the width in centimetres.
Ask about the way in. A handmade sofa that cannot get up the stairs is still stuck on the pavement. Measure doorways and turns.
